UCW Students Gain Experience with Sirona

11/12/2024

Students on UCW’s Assistant Practitioner courses are making a real-world impact by working alongside Sirona care & health, an organisation dedicated to improving lives in the community.

UCW offers Assistant Practitioner pathways in Occupational Therapy, Mental Health, and Health and Social Care, with each course available as either an FdSc degree or a Higher Apprenticeship. This approach ensures that students can tailor their learning to match their career aspirations while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in healthcare settings.

Through this partnership, students are gaining practical skills, from assisting individuals with mental health challenges to supporting patients recovering from physical injuries. Their contributions are vital in providing quality care within healthcare.

This partnership forms part of the Healthcare Careers Excellence Hub. At University Centre Weston our approach goes beyond the traditional classroom setting. Through industry speakers, workshops, employer projects, and more, we equip our learners with the real-world experiences and insights that set them apart in the competitive job market. It’s not just about getting a job; it’s about standing out from the crowd when they embark on their job searches.

To highlight one crucial aspect of their work, Sirona has provided a video showcasing how their work supports people in the community, with the help of UCW.
