The brilliant staff in our UCW HEART team took on some paediatric first aid training, as part of the Children’s University! Staff covered CPR, and saving someone who is choking. The Children’s University is a programme that allows children in primary school to experience a day in the life at university, outside of the typical school environment. This experience gives these students the chance to gain new skills, as well as having lots of fun along the way! By giving children a look at what it is like to go to university, UCW hopes to create an ambition to come to university.
The paediatric first aid training show’s UCW’s investment in widening participation among the local community. A key goal of UCW’s outreach is to inspire learners to consider studying higher education, with Children’s University being the perfect way to see it for the first time.
