UCW is pleased to announce that our BSc (Hons) Public and Environmental Health, and BSc (Hons) Environmental Health Practitioner courses are now IOSH accredited!
This accreditation has been a project involving dialogue between IOSH and UCW, with extensive mapping exercise to show that the degree programmes aligned with IOSH’s learning outcomes and standards. Lecturers were required to submit CVs and provide detailed course materials.
This means that the programmes will be as relevant as possible to current environmental health events through regular communications and interactions with the IOSH team. This connection will also help students on these courses increase their professional networks with other practitioners. IOSH also provides a wide range of professional resources.
The accreditation will strengthen the career prospects of all students, especially those who aspire to work in the ‘health and safety’ aspect of Environmental Health, across both the public and private sector. The accreditation will demonstrate that graduates have achieved a the necessary skills for professional roles. Students and graduates are also able to become members of IOSH, which will also help their CVs and professional credibility!
This new accreditation forms part of the Animal, Environment and Biological Sciences Careers Excellence Hub.
