UCW Celebrates Assistant Practitioner Day

14/10/2024

On Assistant Practitioner Day, we recognise the dedication of healthcare apprentices like Emma, a UCW Assistant Practitioner apprentice who is following her lifelong dream, thanks to the support of her employer, Sirona.

From a young age, Emma aspired to become a physiotherapist, driven by a passion to help people recover and improve their mobility. However, after leaving school, she wasn’t able to pursue this path immediately. Now, later in life, she is finally taking the opportunity to achieve her ambition by training through UCW’s Assistant Practitioner apprenticeship, whilst working for Sirona.

“I’ve always wanted to work in healthcare, especially in physiotherapy,” Emma shares. “This course is giving me the chance to develop new skills and get the experience I need to reach my goal. It’s a brilliant opportunity, and I’m so excited to finally get where I’ve always wanted to be!”

Emma’s story is an inspiring example of perseverance and dedication. With the support of UCW and Sirona, she is well on her way to making a meaningful impact in the healthcare sector, proving that it’s never too late to follow your passion.

This apprenticeship forms part of the Healthcare Careers Excellence Hub.
