UCW students were the stars of the show at the inaugural Encore Nights performance at The Front Room! Encore Nights is a musical variety show featuring a wide range of student performances in front of a live audience.
The night started off with a performance by UCW Professional Music Performance and Production student Michael. Showing his talents, he sang and played the guitar before adding a harmonica as well! Balancing a mix of classic covers and his own songs, Michael’s distinctive style of classic rock and roll wowed audiences and built the atmosphere for the rest of the night.
After this, the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre students were up to perform songs from a wide range of iconic musicals! This included Dear Evan Hansen, Waitress, Heathers, Wicked, Six & many others. The songs were a well-balanced mix between peppy upbeat tracks which got the audience fired up and powerful ballads which showed off the emotion of the performers. Everyone at the venue got to see the incredible talent of each student, and saw how hard they had worked to perform at such a high level.
Finally, Artificial Soul went up on the stage. Artificial Soul are a band made up of UCW Professional Music Performance and Production students. They performed a range of exciting rock music, including their new debut single While It Lasted! The audience called for an encore at the end!
The whole evening was a fantastic tribute to how well our Performing Arts students are doing. They were able to show off their talents to an impressed live audience and gain real world experience doing what they love! The Front Room provides a perfect space to gain industry experience in a professional setting.
