James has worked in education for 24 years in various roles including primary teacher, specialist teacher in working with young people with attachment disorder, SEN teacher and HE lecturer. He also works as a BACP registered counsellor at Weston College and in private practice. In recent years James has specialised in counselling young people with learning differences who have experienced developmental trauma and/or anxiety and depression, complicated grief and other related mental health problems. In HE, James teaches students on the BA (Hons) Special Education Needs, Disability & Inclusive Practice degree course where he delivers modules related to counselling skills, psychology of learning and attachment and trauma.
