Last month, our Musical Theatre, Acting and Dance for Commercial Performance degree students took a trip to London. The trip was a great opportunity for our performers to take part in industry led workshops at the Danceworks Studios and watch some of the best, current theatre performances.
The workshops were a great opportunity to practice a range of skills and gain experience from industry professionals. These ranged from Stage Combat, specialised techniques designed to create the illusion of physical combat without causing harm to the performers, to working on choreography from the musical Back to the Future (which they had watched the night prior).
Further experiences included the Commercial Dance students partaking in an amazing workshop hosted by Joshua Pilmore, a commercial dance choreographer, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
This action-packed trip also allowed the students to see many shows from Cabaret to Hamilton and Matilda, whilst also enjoying the sites, good food and even having a go at some virtual gaming!
