Look no further than our degree in Hair, Makeup and Prosthetics for Production.
In the UK alone, we have an incredibly exciting and vibrant film, theatrical and arts media industry. Our BA (Hons) in Hair, Makeup and Prosthetic for Production is designed to help you develop your career in hairstyling, cosmetics, prosthetics, and special effects by providing you with the opportunity to enhance your skillset and techniques.
We recently sat down with Jade Harding, recent graduate, to gain some insider knowledge about the course and what opportunities it brings.
“I chose UCW because they offered great work experience opportunities!”
One example of the incredible work experience opportunities available to learners on this course happened earlier this year, with learners being put forward by tutors to take part in make-up for the Commonwealth Games ceremonies!
Taking place in Birmingham, the Commonwealth Games 2022 will go on from the 28th July to 8th August and is set to see over 5,000 athletes compete in more than 250 different events. Not only this, but one million tickets have already been sold for the games – with more yet to go on sale. This event will not only be huge in attendance, it is also a huge opportunity for our learners to gain experience and build networks that will be integral to their future careers.
Georgia, Sophie, Jess, Aaliyah and Jasmine are the learners who were awarded a spot for the competitively sought-after opportunity. Read more about their experience here.
Jade continued: “Group activities including the tutors were always fun and really made then learning environment even more welcoming and supportive. The tutors & HEART team were all amazing at alleviating any worries or issues.
“Learning character design and making prosthetic pieces helped me to develop a smooth transition into the industry where I now work.”
Thank you Jade!
