Year 2 Business Management and Sustainability students recently had the opportunity to engage with Carmel Delaney from Triodos Bank Bristol.
The session provided a fascinating insight into the challenges and opportunities associated with ethical investment and banking.
During the discussion, students explored the merits of considered investments and their role in promoting social responsibility and environmental change.
Carmel led an engaging conversation, highlighting how ethical banking practices can drive sustainable progress while ensuring financial viability.
As part of the interactive session, students participated in a scenario challenge, putting their learning into practice.
They were tasked with evaluating investment proposals against the strict ethical criteria that Triodos Bank upholds. This hands-on experience allowed them to critically assess real-world funding decisions and understand the complexities of responsible financial management.
The event was an invaluable experience for students, equipping them with practical knowledge of ethical banking and investment strategies.
Caroline Jackson, Business Lecturer, said: “It was fantastic to welcome Carmel in to speak with our learners. Engaging with industry professionals helps students bridge the gap between academic study and real-world application, preparing them for future careers in sustainable business management.”
