Counselling Speakers Cover Embodiment and Racial Awareness

21/03/2025

Our counselling students recently had two guest lectures with industry experts, to boost their skills in key areas!

Guest lecturer Jamie came in to deliver a session about deepening embodiment, which is a crucial aspect of therapeutic work. He also covered constellations and awareness, both key for a rounded counselling experience. With over twenty years of experience, Jamie works as a facilitator, consultant and creative practitioner in counselling, making his contribution to the class a key teaching experience.

The other guest lecture that counselling students also attended was delivered by Lollie. This session provided an experiential exploration of racial identity and how it relates to work with diverse client groups.

These guest speakers form part of the Counselling Careers Excellence Hub. University Centre Weston has ten sector-specific Career Excellence Hubs, which evidence our dedication to supporting both employers and learners in achieving their future goals. By creating a seamless connection between industry and education, we enable learners to acquire not only the essential skills and knowledge but also the professional networks necessary to excel in their chosen fields.
