Criminology Students Gain Insight into Detective Work

18/10/2024

Criminology and Public Services students were fascinated in a guest lecture by Tony Jay. Tony was a detective in Gloucestershire Constabulary during the investigation of the Fred and Rose West case.

Tony gave a detailed account of the case, along with the specialist techniques that were used to catch and convict the killers. These included criminal profiling, as well as forensic science. Tony showcased how all of the aspects of policing and detective work come together for a wider cause, and to keep the public safe – inspiring the students present!
